Healthy Living Programme

The Healthy Living Programme for older people and carers is a fun and sociable way to improve wellbeing, fitness and quality of life through exercise, therapies, crafts, games, support and information. The full programme is available at the Worthing Healthy Living Centre at Methold House and a mini programme is provided at the Lovett Centre, Goring-by-Sea. Tai ChiExercise

  • Tai chi for mixed ability

  • Well Person Service ~ regular opportunity to talk to a nurse or Health Trainer

ComputingMental stimulation, crosswords, cards, games and much more


Activities to enjoy with friends include Scrabble and Hoy, Rummikub and Bingo, quizzes, jigsaws, cards, chess, bridge and weekly discussion groups.


There are regular opportunities to use the computers and people unfamiliar with the technology are supported to access the internet and to email friends and family.

Assisted bathing ~ our easy access bath and shower gives you time to relax with help to hand. It is simple to bathe with as much assistance from our staff, your carer or regular home care assistant as you need

Art, craft, poetry and song


Bowl CraftsJoin our ‘Painting for Fun’ sessions every Tuesday from 10am. If you’ve never picked up a paintbrush this is a great opportunity to try a new hobby guided by our art tutor.


Our creative craft group meet on Friday mornings from 10am and produce some imaginative items as well as decorations for special events at the centre.


On Wednesdays our poetry group meet at 1.30pm to read, discuss and write poetry. The group enjoy all manner of verse and some members occasionally perform in public.


PoetsOur popular Silver Songs sessions offer a fun, relaxed time to encourage people to use their voices. Service users benefit from improvements to posture, breathing and sleeping. The programme is supported by Worthing Choral Society members and has produced some memorable performances by our ‘Rattle & Roll’ singers in their 70s, 80s and 90s.

Enjoy good food and good company


Ladies CookingOur two course nutritious and reasonably priced lunches are very tasty. We’re happy to cater for people with special dietary needs and vegetarians.


Themed lunches and special events provide an opportunity to sample new foods, international dishes and regional fayre.


The ‘Full of Beans’ coffee bar is open during the day for refreshments and freshly baked snacks and cakes if you just want to drop in for a class or to meet friends.


If you’ve never learnt to cook you will certainly find our Cook ‘n’ Eat classes with our qualified instructor are relaxed and enjoyable.
