Guild Care today

From those small beginnings 75 years ago, Guild Care now has an annual turnover of over £9 million, employs 500 staff and benefits from the contribution of over 200 volunteers.  One of the charity’s many strengths has been its ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs of the local community over the past 75 years and to develop new and imaginative services to meet those needs.

Guild Care touches the lives of thousands of people in Worthing and the surrounding areas each year through our services:

Four care homes with nursing:

  • Ashmount care home
  • Caer Gwent care home
  • Irene House care home
  • Linfield care home, including the Richmond Suite specialist dementia unit

Dolphin Court sheltered housing for older people

Home Care and Intermediate Care covering Worthing and surrounding areas from Shoreham to Rustington

Healthy Living Centre and Programme a dynamic and exciting range of activities, services and social opportunities for older people and carers in the Worthing area.  Based at Methold House, North Street, Worthing

Community Partnership Team providing tailored one-to-one support to vulnerable older people, helping them to continue living independently in the community

Lovett Club community club for older people in the Maybridge area of Worthing

Durrington Club community club for older people in the Durrington area

Time Out for Carers providing a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for people with dementia, and enabling their carers to have a short break

Time Out and About trips and outings for carers and the people they care for, giving them precious leisure time together

Ashdown Club activities for children and young people aged five to 18 with special needs, and support for their carers and families

Community transport a fleet of minibuses, driven mainly by volunteers, providing door-to-door transport and trips and outings for older people in the community, residents of our care homes, and children and young people with special needs

Carers Liaison Service Guild Care hosts and supports the Carers Liaison Service providing information, advice and support to unpaid carers in Worthing and Adur.

Guild Care works in partnership with West Sussex County Council, West Sussex NHS Primary Care Trust and many other organisations in Worthing and beyond.

Guild Care has a special place in the heart of the Worthing community.  As we celebrate our first 75 years, we also look forward to the next chapter in our history, and we plan to support the people of Worthing and surrounding parts of West Sussex for many years to come.
