If you're looking for low cost secondhand funiture in the Worthing area, the GreenHouse in East Worthing is the place to come.

The huge GreenHouse Charity Superstore and Furniture Warehouse opened in May 2005 in Meadow Road, East Worthing and houses an ever-changing range of value-for-money furniture, cheap electrical goods, general household items, sports equipment, books and pictures, ornaments, clothes, toys, games, dvds and much more.

Furniture and ToysThe showroom extends to workshops and storage areas and if you can’t see what you’re looking for, it’s probably not far away.

Our white goods and electrical appliances are tested for safety by an accredited PAT tester before being sold. Electrical goods come with a three month guarantee.

Our vans collect furniture donations throughout the Worthing and surrounding areas. Items collected are distributed daily to our shops by the furniture team.

Furniture for people in need

The GreenHouse works with Social & Caring Services by fulfilling all the basic furniture requirements of clients referred to us. Referrals come from organisations working with disadvantaged people in the Worthing area, such as Social Services, the local hospitals, Worthing Churches Homeless Project, JobCentre Plus and Worthing Borough Council. Clients are able to discuss their furniture requirements with the Furniture Scheme Manager.

Please read information for applicants before applying online or downloading our Furniture Scheme: Application for Assistance form for details of costs.

All items provided will be of good standard, and will have undergone the same inspection procedures as retail items. This system has been operating successfully for over seven years. The project currently helps a wide variety of people, including single mothers on income support, teenagers receiving job seekers allowance, older people claiming disability allowance, refugees and asylum seekers, people with mental health problems or going through drug and alcohol rehabilitation programmes who are moving into accommodation for the first time. We have also helped families who have lost everything in a fire, flood or other tragedy.

Restoration workshop

Guild Care ShopsThe restoration workshop has been operating since 1999. It is currently run in partnership with West Sussex Probation Service.

Items restored and refurbished in our workshops are then sold in our charity shops.
