Kennard & Steel raise over £5,000 for Healthy Living Programme Appeal
The fourth Not the New Years Eve Ball finally took place at Worthing Golf Club on Friday 29 January having been postponed due to heavy snow some three weeks earlier.
The annual event is organised by Worthing businessmen Derek Steel of Jacobs Steel Estate Agency and Peter Kennard of H. D. Tribe Funeral Directors. Peter is a Guild Care Trustee and Derek is a Guild Care Member. 120 guests enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a sumptuous four course dinner. Caricaturist Sean Savage, created some brilliant portraits of the guests during the meal.
Over £5,000 was raised via a post dinner auction, which was hosted by Graham Fuller and Dominic Johnston. Prizes included Wembley tickets for the League Cup Final; a private box at the 02 arena; tickets and limousine to a show at the Theatre Royal, Brighton; a day for two at famous health spa, Champneys. There was also a silent auction with prizes coming from Victoria Beckham, Sir Clive Woodward, the cast of Eastenders and Arsenal Football Club.
Derek and Peter said ‘We would like to thank the many people who kindly donated prizes and to all those who attended. Our next event is the St. George’s Day Luncheon, which will be held on Friday 23 April at the Ardington Hotel in Worthing.’
