Help us to make a difference

We are all getting older but some desperately need our help to make life bearable. We provide vital services for frail and vulnerable older people; people with dementia and their carers; children and young people with special needs who otherwise would find it difficult and, often impossible, to get that help from other sources. These groups and individuals live around us in our community, they live in our streets but are often isolated due to ill health, lack of knowledge or reduced mobility. The older generation have lived through great hardships before and they are often too proud to ask for help.

'When you care for a person with dementia knowing that Guild Care is there makes it more bearable. All the staff and volunteers are amazing. You are a lifesaver, I couldn't cope without the help and support.'

In Sussex 26,500 people live with dementia – more than anywhere else in the UK. With 1 in 3 people over 65s set to live with the disease, it is fast becoming one of the biggest health concerns we face in our county. The Office of National Statistics recently reported that dementia and Alzheimer’s disease killed more women than any other disease in 2013, including breast cancer.
