Chris Hare History Walk

30-May-2010

walkersDespite a wet and windy bank holiday Saturday, the weather improved and stayed fine on Sunday 30 May for Chris Hare's 'Worthing Old Village' History Walk.

The event began at Methold House where 24 walkers received a welcome of tea and cakes before setting off around what once was Worthing's Old Village, which include the Town Hall and Homefield Park.

Although much of the 'old village' is no longer visible, Chris was able to bring history to life with vivid descriptions and stories of a developing village from its roots as an agricultural village to a popular and well established seaside resort.

The event was enjoyed by everyone and £120 was raised for the Healthy Living Appeal.
