Hosted by local DJ Dave Hunt and volunteer Percy Nowell, Guild Care’s annual Entertainment Quiz on Tuesday 20 September raised £384 for the Healthy Living Centre for older people and carers.
The Entertainment Quiz was started three years ago by Guild Care volunteer Percy Nowell and moved to Field Place this year having outgrown its previous venues. Rounds included a ‘name that tune’ with local musician Ted Young and magician Martin Lewis entertained the quizzers at their tables.
Somewhat embarrassingly, the winning team was our own fundraising department, who graciously donated their prize to the runners up, the Hooray Henrys. Winners of the booby prize were the Linfield Lovelies, from Linfield care home in Wykeham Road, Worthing.
Fundraising Manager Rachael Duke said 'It was a fantastic night out and raised a great sum for our Healthy Living Centre, even more than last year’s quiz. We’re very grateful to all the teams who entered and the funds raised will go towards providing reminiscence therapy for local older people. We’re hoping our blushes at having been the winning team will fade soon!'
