Fellow trustees, Guild Care members, staff and colleagues joined Chair Peter Robinson in a farewell party for trustees Derek Ridley, Mary Childs and Paul Temple to thank them for their service.Peter reflected on their many achievements and the service they have given to Guild Care during their time as trustees. He highlighted Derek's long and dedicated association with the organisation which began with him volunteering in the 1980s, becoming a trustee of Worthing Area Guild in 1991 and later overseeing the transition of the charity to Guild Care and an incorporated company. Derek was appointed Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 2001.

Peter went on to say that Mary had joined Guild Care as a trustee in 2001 following her retirement as matron at Gifford House and that her appointment had added a different dimension to the Board because of her wealth of practical experience working in the care sector. All of the Board were delighted she plans to remain as a volunteer with our Time Out for Carers service.
Thanks were extended to Paul Temple, who was unable to join the gathering, but had served as a trustee for 14 years and was recognised as an excellent ambassador for the organisation with his involvement and guidance proving invaluable over the years including acting as Deputy Chairman from 2006 to 2009.
