'Financing Care for people living alone' is the first of a series of free talks for older people, their relatives and care professionals that Guild Care is offering as part of a new initiative 'Approaching Care'.
'Financing Care for people living alone' will be held at our Linfield Care Home on Thursday 7 April at 7pm. The speaker is Tom Scott from the Care Fees Advice Agency who will be able to answer questions such as 'Do I really need to sell my property?' or 'How can I preserve some capital for my family?' and 'How can I protect myself against future fee increases?'
There will be ample opportunities to ask questions on financing care and other care matters as well as refreshments.
The series of talks will also include topics such as couples care fees planning; how to leave something for your family; health and wellbeing; how to choose a solicitor; falls prevention; how to remain active when you're growing old; managing transition and change without family; carers' entitlements; dementia and respite care.
As Guild Care is holding the first of these talks in one of our homes, places will be strictly limited to around 20 people on a first come, first serviced basis.
