Pier splash for intergalactic knights
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, two friends decided to take on the Worthing Birdman challenge. Lee De La Rue Browne and Pete Parker (alias Darth Vadar and Luke Skywalker) will attempt the wet defying feat for the Ashdown Centre, a Guild Care service which offers short breaks to children and young people with special needs.
Lee said ‘Like all the best ideas, deciding to do the Birdman competition in a Star Wars theme came out of an evening of curry and a lot of beer. As we both have children decided that we would really like to raise money for the Ashdown Club and the fantastic work the Club does in supporting children with special needs. We're aiming to raise £1,000 which we know will make a huge difference.’
Lee works for Reed Business Information and Pete for the Birchwood Group and West Sussex Motors.
