D & P Fundraising were delighted to hand over a cheque for £13,400 to Guild Care. This sum represents the total raised from three events held during the year. The ‘Not the New Years Eve Ball’ in January raised £4,800, the St Georges Day Luncheon £7,100 and the firework party at the end of July added a further £1,500.D & P Fundraising; Derek Steel of Jacobs Steel Estate Agents and Peter Kennard of H.D.Tribe Ltd Funeral Directors have been raising funds for Guild Care for the last four years. Peter is a trustee with Guild Care and Derek has been a Guild Care member for the same period.
Suzanne Millard, Guild Care’s Chief Executive said ‘the £13,400 figure will go towards the current ongoing appeal to raise £100K for the Healthy Living Programme for older people and carers run at Methold House and the Lovett Centre. The appeal has now reached just over £70,000 and we are very grateful to Derek and Peter for their time and effort.’
Peter Kennard said ‘None of this money would have been raised without countless contributions. Many thanks for the generosity shown by those who have attended the functions and to the many people and local businesses who put up prizes for auction.’
Plans are already in place for the ‘2011 Not the New Years Eve Ball’ which will be held at Worthing Golf Club on Saturday January 8th.
