Guild Care celebrates employees' achievements

Guild Care's Annual Awards were held at Methold House on Wednesday 10 November. Chairman of Trustees Carol Roberts presented the prizes and certificates to dozens of worthy employees.

Training Manager, Jackie Wheeler hosted the event and welcomed over 80 staff and trustees. Jackie said 'This afternoon is all about celebrating people who have made a difference and through their achievements have a positive effect on the services Guild Care provides.'

Learner of the Year was Leona Cameron, Care Assistant from Caer Gwent. Leona was nominated for her commitment to her NVQ qualifications. She gained her level 3 NVQ in 6 months instead of the normal 12 months and showed tremendous knowledge and understanding of her role. 'Leona is very hard working and committed to every aspect of her job' said Amanda Kane, NVQ Manager.

Guild Care Individual Award 2010 was presented to Claire Binstead, Finance Manager, for her professionalism, commitment to work, loyalty and skill in keeping on top of the complex finances of Guild Care.

The Individual Award for 2009 was presented to Luc Harvengt, Manager of the Outreach Team.  Team of the Year 2010 was presented to Ashmount for their loyalty and achievements over the past 12 months. Team of the Year 2009 was presented to the Lovett Team. Personal Development Outside of the Workplace 2009 went to Morna Eddie for completing her CIPD Professional Qualification and in 2010 to Lyn Madgwick, for gaining her Diploma in Health & Safety. Individual Health and Safety Awards were presented to Heather Mills, Eileen Wakeford and Charlotte Brackley.

Supervisor Development went to Les Poplawski and special awards went to Tricia Hall, Manager of Ashmount; Jenni Mitchell, Care Services Manager at Linfield; Wendi Cornish, Administrator at Caer Gwent; Jo Tuck, Fundraising and Volunteering Manager; Sarah Tetrault and Ann Dicks, Rota Administrators.

Sue Williamson and Michelle Chatfield received A1 Assessor Awards; NVQ level 3 certificates were presented to Leona Cameron, Emma Hockett and Shirley Butcher. NVQ level 2 certificates went to Gerry Midwinter, Christine Lansdown, Kelly Hedley, Maria Cowell, Lorna Charles, Barbara Witham, Katey Wiseman, Carole Vine and Stephanie Townsend all from Home Care. NVQ level 2 certificates were presented to Erika Zickute, Georgina Taylor, Siobhan Lurring and Rebecca Reffold from Ashmount; Jane Lintern, Tasha Webb and Paula Massingham from Linfield; Bonita Harris, Victoria Needham and Kamaljeet Sahota from Irene House and Elito Cuizon and Yvonne Banks from Caer Gwent.
