Worthing Homes is working in partnership with Guild Care, a provider of innovative services for older people, to relaunch the Lovett Centre on Thursday, 16 July, 2009.
This exciting initiative will include a make-over for the Lovett Centre, a day-centre adjacent to Lovett Court in Maybridge Square, Goring-on-Sea, which is used by some of the tenants and around 115 local residents. Guild Care is introducing its innovative Healthy Living Programme for older people at the Lovett Centre building on the success of the Healthy Living Centre at Methold House, North Street, Worthing.
The programme will include:
• Keeping fit and healthy classes (seated exercise, physio and tai chi)
• Weight management and dietary advice
• A well person service and specialist talks
• Arts, crafts and song
• Healthy food and good company
• Other services and therapies accessible by Guild Care transport .
Health Living Services Manager Jill Lancaster comments: “We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Worthing Homes on this project . Lovett opened 23 years ago as a retirement club adjacent to Lovett Court in Maybridge Square, Goring-on-Sea and provides a valuable service to local residents both from Lovett Court and from the wider community.”
