Twelve volunteers from MGM Advantage in Worthing visited our Linfield home on 17 August to plant Bizzy Lizzies and brighten up the pots and troughs in the main patio garden. In the Richmond Suite garden, used by residents with dementia, they replanted some of the older rockery plants and used space in the vegetable patch to make a riot of colour and completely weeded the pathway.
The volunteers, from the Finance Team, used the day to team build and were given time off work as part of their Community Programme. MGM Advantage also paid for the plants and compost used on the day and made the areas beautiful for the residents.
David Metcalf, Head of Finance at MGM took part in the day and commented, ‘MGM Advantage is a retirement income specialist so Guild Care’s great work in the community resonates with our goals as an organisation. We were delighted to help out at Linfield. We had a very enjoyable day and hopefully made a lasting difference to the gardens.’
Jo Tuck, Volunteer Co-ordinator for Guild Care thanked everyone for working so hard and said ‘MGM’s support has made a real difference to our residents and they really appreciate the brightly coloured blooms.’
