A free creative dance class taster session for older people was held at the Lovett Centre in October and attracted 27 people over the age of 60.
The 10 week course is funded by a grant from the West Sussex Arts and Health network - a group of organisations including Adur & Worthing Councils, NHS West Sussex, West Sussex County Council and Guild Care.
The course is designed to get people enjoying dance, mixing socially and doing some gentle exercise.
Research by the University of Bristol has shown that being active cuts the risk of Alzheimers by a third.
Adur and Worthing Community Wellbeing Officer Julia Stevens said 'Just because someone is collecting their pension doesn't mean they can't enjoy the physical pleasures in life such as dancing.'
