Pat's 30 years working for Guild Care

03-Feb-2011

Pat Borrer started work with Guild Care as a part-time domestic at Guild Care's Frazer Lodge on 3 February 1981. today she is Manager at Dolphin Court, our sheltered housing accommodation in Southey Road, Worthing.

Pat was presented with a Cymbidium Orchid and a box of her favourite chocolates on Friday 4 February by Chief Executive Suzanne Millard and Operations Director Bob Phipps at Dolphin Court.

Bob said 'Pat's time at Dolphin Court included a major period of refurbishment in 2001 when she led the whole tenant group back to the empty Frazer Lodge for a considerable length of time while Dolphin Court was fully refurbished. Pat is a great example of company loyalty and adaptability.'

Queenie Hawkes, a Dolphin Court tenant said 'Pat is just one lovely lady. She will help anyone and is always there when you need her.' Her comments were backed up by Norman Bishop who added 'Pat makes Dolphin Court very special.'

Pat has held many positions over the years including Care Attendant, Staff Supervisor, Senior Care Assistant, Cook and Administration Assistant. She has worked at Ashmount, Irene House, Frazer Lodge and Dolphin Court.

Pat helped to 'relaunch' Frazer Lodge in 1989 and piloted the role of Senior Care Assistant successfully for Guild Care.

Pat finally arrived at Dolphin Court on a six month contract as Warden in April 1997. This became permanent in September 1997 and she has now been there for 14 years and an employee of Guild Care for 30 years.

Pat said 'Guild Care has always been a good organisation to work for. Over the years the charity has been very supportive and understanding. I hope I am still working for them when I retire and that they are keeping a room upstairs in Dolphin Court for me.'
