Following Guild Care’s investigations into the behaviour of Rosemary Zondi, an RN at Irene House in 2009, the matter was referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council and, after a hearing on 20 January 2011, she was struck off the nursing register.
Guild Care Chief Executive, Suzanne Millard said ‘These serious allegations were reported to us by two employees and we made a full investigation. Before the investigation was completed Rosemary Zondi resigned. Senior management decided to take the matter further as they were extremely concerned she might seek employment as an RN elsewhere.’
Guild Care are very pleased that the Nursing and Midwifery Council took the allegations seriously following our full report and investigations. Two of our employees gave evidence during the hearing.
Operations Director, Debbie Dollner said ‘We expect our nurses and care staff to always behave professionally and take our duty of care to residents very seriously. We have stringent care quality and monitoring systems and make regular night visits to our homes to ensure that we offer the best care practice 24 hours a day.’
