Volunteers, employees and customers were joined by Guild Care Chief Executive and Vice Chairman on Wednesday 7 April to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our charity shop at the Strand, Goring-by-Sea. Suzanne Millard, Chief Executive thanked all volunteers for their hard work and announced that the shop had taken £750,000 since it opened in 2000.
Rita Hodder, Su McKenzie and Marjorie Zoutewelle have been volunteers at the shop for 10 years - joining in the first few weeks of opening. Rita said 'I volunteer twice a week and would really miss all the volunteers and the customers if I didn't come in. We get lots of unusual things brought in and it's really fun.' Marjorie said 'I came in one day and bought a gold ring. I had recently lost my husband and needed something to do and before I knew it I was a volunteer. I also help at the GreenHouse and love the company and the people.'Everyone including customers enjoyed a glass of wine and some cake and volunteers were presented with certificates for their 10 years support and dedication.
