Guild Care Patron, Olympic gold medallist Tina Cook, presented prizes at Guild Care's Employee Awards ‘Celebrating Our Achievements’ on Wednesday 2 November at Methold House, Worthing.
The three top nominations from each category were invited with the winners being announced at the ceremony.
‘Learner of the Year’ was Katey Wiseman, highly recommended by Northbrook College and the first in the area to complete the new QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care at Level 3. Katey, who works for Guild Care’s Intermediate Home Care Team, was praised her high commitment and quality of work by Selina Bishop of Northbrook College.
Activity Co-ordinator, Sue Hilditch from Ashmount, received the ‘Innovation within a Service’ award for her Wish List project. Sue enables residents to visit places that are very meaningful to them, providing the time and support to give them something very special to look forward to.
Sandy Maplesden was nominated by six different services for ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ for her reception work at Methold House.
Lesley May (Linfield) took the Personal Development award, Chris Stone (Linfield) the Outstanding Contribution Award and Les Poplawski (Ashmount) received the Fire Safety Award. The Service Safety Award went to the Domestic Team at Linfield. Special mentions were given to Amanda Kane (Training) and Paula Massingham (Linfield).
Guild Care employees 650 people across their services for older people, carers and children with special needs. Chief Executive, Suzanne Millard said ‘it is sometimes too easy to focus on the difficulties of working within the care sector and we all need to celebrate the excellent work carried out on a daily basis by our dedicated staff.’
