Guild Care’s new Patron visits Healthy Living Centre and Linfield care home
Olympic Bronze Medallist Tina Cook visited Guild Care’s award winning Healthy Living Centre and Linfield Care Home with nursing in Worthing on Wednesday 8th July. This was Tina’s first official visit to mark her appointment as Patron for the charity. She toured the facilities with Chairman Peter Robinson and Chief Executive Antonia Bunnin, speaking to service users and staff.
Tina said “I feel very honoured to have been asked to become a Patron of such a well established charity and I am very impressed by their approach to care for older people, carers and children with special needs. The Healthy Living Programme offers so much for vulnerable people at Methold House and the care at Linfield was exceptional. I am really looking forward to working with Guild Care”.
Peter Robinson said “We are delighted to announce Tina Cook as our new Patron. She is clearly a very inspirational figure and a local heroine and we welcome her support for Guild Care. I am sure that we will gain much from working together in the future.”
Tina’s equestrian skills earned her a place in the history books when she achieved an Olympic eventing bronze medal in 2008 in Beijing and with this feat ensured the GB Eventing Team also won bronze. Tina, from Findon, has many local connections in West Sussex and is the daughter of Josh Gifford, four times National Hunt champion. She is married to Phillip and the couple have two children Isabelle and Harry.
Guild Care would also like to take this opportunity to thank our former Patron, the Duke of Richmond and Gordon who retired from the role last December after 21 years service.
