As part of Trustees Week, we asked our Trustees why they are passionate about Guild Care and what they most enjoy about their role.
Rod Woodward-Court said ‘being a trustee has enabled me to be involved with an organisation I have respected and valued over many years as a GP in Worthing. Guild Care has cared well for my patients in their homes and also when needed in their care homes. I have been delighted to help Guild Care as a trustee and have been deeply impressed with the Guild’s commitment to high standards in every aspect of its work.’
Kath Hutchinson said ‘It was a privilege to attend the recent awards ceremony and to applaud the achievements of individuals and teams. The awards were well deserved but I am also aware of the commitment of all Guild Care staff in giving the best possible care to our residents, those that visit our centres and those visited by our outreach teams. It is good to be part of such a caring and friendly organisation.’
Our Trustees attend monthly board and committee meetings to give firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting the overall policy, defining goals and evaluating performance against agreed targets. Their roles ensure that Guild Care complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation and protects the charity’s properties and investments.
Chief Executive, Suzanne Millard says ‘we are very grateful to the commitment, time and effort of all our Trustees. Their sound independent judgement and good business acumen.
