18th June 2019

£5,000 was raised for Guild Care on Friday 14th June at our 28th Annual Golf Challenge.

The event saw 12 teams of three representing local businesses converge upon Worthing Golf Club for a day of sport and fun. In addition to the 18-hole competition, the all-day event included brunch, refreshments, and a dinner with an auction and raffle.

This year’s winning team was made up of staff members from ETI, the UK’s largest thermometer manufacturer. Other awards included ‘Longest Drive’, presented to Paul Froom of MHA Carpenter Box, and ‘Nearest Pin’, taken home by Martin Wakeman from Jordan and Cook.

Also in attendance was Worthing’s new mayor, Hazel Thorpe, who posed for photos with players and the charity’s CEO, Suzanne Millard.

Peter Kennard, a long standing supporter of Guild Care and host of the day said: “Once again we are so impressed by the level of generosity from everyone who has come out and supported such a worthwhile cause. We wouldn't have been able to raise any money without the support of the teams who participated and the local businesses who sponsored the event: Connect Catering, Vadtel, and Wall Bros.”
