Thank you to Worthing Temple Lodge, who have donated £500 to our charity.

The money, which was matched by Brighton Provincial Grand Lodge, was raised last year. David Thomas, Worthing Temple Lodge’s then Worshipful Master, nominated Guild Care as he wanted the money to go towards dementia care.

David Thomas and Worthing Temple Lodge’s current Worshipful Master, Frank Taylor, presented the money to our Trust and Foundations Fundraising Officer, Alison Laurie, at Methold House on Thursday 20th August.

The donation will enable us to provide a sensory therapeutic musical experience for residents of our Haviland House care home who are in the later stages of dementia and have reached the stage where they are nursed in bed. One-to-one music sessions can bring a sense of comfort and tranquillity, allowing moments of interaction, connection and wellbeing to individuals who, as their condition has progressed, may feel lost and alone.
