Practical support for older people - money, energy, access to benefits, and much more

Our caring and experienced prevention link workers and outreach team supports over 250 older people each year, allowing them to live well in their own homes.

We work with older people in the community to avoid isolation by offering practical support around finances and energy, confidence building, information and encouragement to help improve general well-being and better access to benefits

The team has strong links with other health and well-being initiatives and are experienced in working to support older people. They arrange a number of small gatherings of people, helping those who may have become isolated to make new friends. These events could be a 'Tea & Chat' with a quiz or a Tai Chi session locally.

"The money adviser checked my benefits for me as my health and mobility had become worse over the last year. They helped me to complete the paperwork. Once I was awarded the allowance the Outreach Team gave me a choice of agencies that could help me. I now see a lovely lady twice a week." Advice and support service user
