Community services Learning disabilities Adults with learning disabilities Ashdown Extra Ashdown Extra, which is run by our Ashdown Centre, is a social and friendship group for young adults aged from 18-30 with learning disabilities and more complex needs. It offers its young people the opportunity to meet each week for a few hours to make friends and have fun. The group chooses its own activities, which in the past has included films, bowling, music, cooking, eating and trips to the pub. When does it run? Every Thursday, 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Cost Sessions are £6.50 per person with additional costs for some activities and refreshments. Weekend Extra Weekend extra is available to adults aged 18-25 thanks to funding from West Sussex County Council’s 'Short Breaks' fund. The service is one Sunday a month and offers outings and trips, including theatre visits, days out to theme parks and trying new things such as inflatable water parks. All of the activities are chosen by the young adults attending.
