About the Ashdown Centre

The Ashdown Centre has been running since 1998 and provides respite services for families of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs. It offers stimulating, fun sessions (for at least 6 hours per month) for more than 100 families in Worthing and its surrounding areas.

Our highly trained and experienced staff provide a caring and safe environment for children with a wide range of needs, such as physical, developmental, educational, sensory, behavioural or psychological - including Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome and ADHD.

What is it?

The Ashdown Out & About service offer short respite breaks to parents and carers for children with a disability or additional needs. Recent trips for the children have included Bowling at Out of Bounds, Blackberry Farm, the British Wildlife Centre and Tilgate Park.

Who can use the service?

Ashdown Out & About is for children aged 5 - 14 with disabilities and their siblings.

When does it run?

We offer short breaks once a month on a Sunday which include transport and lunch. This gives parents and carers a complete break.
