About Us

Guild Care has been making a difference to the lives of the people of Worthing and its surrounding areas since it was first established in 1933. As one of the oldest and largest employers in Worthing, we know the importance of a good work-life balance and we pride ourselves in supporting our team with their well-being and commitments outside of work.

The Role

You will feel like part of a family when you join us as a Bank Care Assistant in one of our nursing homes. You will provide person-centred support for our residents and family members that requires empathy and compassion, respecting that feelings matter the most. You will assist in the delivery of effective day-to-day care which is responsive to individuals’ needs, and in accordance with Guild Care policies and procedures and the principles of best practice. You and your co-workers will help each other get things done, whilst getting the chance to talk and learn about each other.

You will be able to pick up shifts on days or nights to suit you; giving you the chance to earn some extra money and to fit work around family arrangements, study, or other responsibilities. You will be expected to provide cover on an occasional basis sometimes at short notice. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to work flexibly.

Working on the bank team at Guild Care gives you the opportunity to work between our different services and gain more skills and experience within the care sector. You don’t need previous experience, but you must be 18 or over to apply. When recruiting new applicants to join our team we take account of a person’s potential rather than their current skills. When you join our team we will discuss with you what’s on offer and your career aspirations. You will meet our friendly, supportive Learning and Development Team and join our in-house trainers in our fantastic training facilities.

Our Recruitment / Welcoming Process

1. Let us know you are interested (apply, email, call). We want to find out about you; tell us a bit about yourself and how you would make a positive difference to a person’s life by contributing to their health, happiness, and wellbeing.

2. We will then send your application for consideration and contact you as soon as we can if we would like to invite you to meet with us. Even though we would love to get to know everybody please note that due to the high volume of applicants we receive, we are not able to respond to you individually. Therefore, if you are successful you will hear from us within three weeks.

3. Once an offer of employment has been made we will assist you through the on-boarding process and welcome you into the Guild Care team. We will offer you a competitive salary between £8.75- £9.90 per hour depending on your experience and shifts worked ( a little extra on nights and at weekends).

4. Once you are all settled in, your friends can come on over and join us. We will give you a Recommend a Friend bonus as a little thank you.
