How we help families outside of care homes At Guild Care we don't just provide long-term spaces in our nursing homes. We’re also committed to supporting people whilst they are still living at home and looking after carers. Below you will find some of the ways we can help. Home Care Our Home Care support service lets your loved one get support in the comfort of their own home. When day‐to‐day living becomes more challenging, but it’s not the right time to move into a nursing home, our Home Care service can offer someone support whilst they keep their independence. Our caring and compassionate Community Care Assistants help with all types of personal and domestic care and daily tasks. Sometimes this can mean doing the food shopping or preparing meals, general mobility, or making sure they take their medication at the right times. But it’s more than that - our carers provide emotional support too. We understand that care is about more than ticking off a to-do list of practical jobs. It is also about sitting down with a person and having a cup of tea and a chat. At Guild Care, we know that companionship is part of great care. Time Out support services The demands of caring for a loved one with dementia can be challenging. Our ‘Time Out’ services are designed to support you both. We provide a range of group activities and outings for the person you care for, which gives them a chance to socialise with other elderly people, make friends and do interesting things together. This gives you time out to rest and recharge your batteries, safe in the knowledge that your loved one is being cared for by our passionate and trained staff. Respite care in Worthing The stresses and strains of day to day life can be exhausting at the best of times, but even more so when you have the added pressure of caring for a loved one. At Guild Care, we understand that the most devoted carer sometimes needs extra time and support to care for themselves, too, so that they can be in the best position to look after their family and friends. Maybe you’re going away on holiday, or you’re working full‐time, or your loved one needs extra care if they’re in recovery from illness or an operation. Respite care offers short stays of between one week and six weeks, and offers a full support service for your loved one. Spacious en‐suite rooms, 24/7 room service, all meals and drinks, in‐house entertainment and outings, and even weekly treatments at the beauty salon. Taking the step to get outside care can be a difficult decision, but here at Guild Care we make it as easy and comfortable as possible.
