Guild Care opened its first charity shop more than 40 years ago. We now have 11 charity shops selling a wide variety of items including second-hand and new furniture, vintage clothes, bric-a-brac, books and children's toys. Money raised from the charity shops goes towards running our vital community services for people of all ages.

We are delighted to announce that we are opening a new shop in Hove. This will be an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team. 

You will deputise for the Shop Manager in their absence and provide full holiday cover as required. You will assist the Shop Manager in achieving set income budget and maximising scales, as well as assist in the day-to-day operation of the shop. You will help manage and promote the Charity Shop to ensure it remains profitable, well-known and well regarded and to assist in raising the profile of Guild Care throughout the town.

Job Requirements

Essential

The post holder must be literate and numerate

To have a flexible attitude to work

To have the ability to undertake reasonable lifting duties

To demonstrate good organisation and planning skills

The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service 

Desirable

Experience of working with volunteers

Experience of handling cash

Experience of Charity shop sector

Experience of working towards targets

Basic IT skills

Supervisory or managerial skills
