Local children Hugo and Harvey Metcalfe have been named as the winners of Guild Care’s Pedal Along the Prom sponsorship prize.

Pedal Along the Prom is an annual sponsored cycle along Worthing’s Seafront with added treats and activities for the whole family. Children raising more than £25 in sponsorship were entered into a prize draw to win a hamper including a Lego set, a Pikachu stuffed toy, and an assortment of chocolates.

Nicky Metcalfe, the boys’ mother, said, “We took part [in Pedal] as a family as it is important to support local charities that support local families making their lives easier. We will definitely take part next year and would encourage others to take part in this fun event for a worthy cause.”

Over 200 people took part in Pedal Along the Prom on Sunday 14th April, raising over £4,000 - record figures for the event. These funds will be used to help continue Guild Care’s vital community services for local children and adults in need.

Pedal Along the Prom will be back next year. In the meantime, Guild Care has an exciting calendar of events which can be found on their website. Most notably, the charity’s flagship event Walk for Worthing, a sponsored sunset walk along Worthing’s seafront, is fast approaching on Saturday 15th June.

Guild Care needs to raise £460,000 every year to continue to run its community services for children and adults in need. If you’d like to make a donation, take part in a fundraising challenge or become a volunteer, please visit www.guildcare.org or call 01903 528 613.
