Domestic Coordinator As the Domestic Coordinator you will take responsibility for managing the home help team, providing support and supervision to all team members. You will play a key role in staff scheduling for a team of home help workers and providing weekly rotas for the people they support. You will arrange the domestic services provided to individual customers and ensure their needs and risks are documented and reviewed regularly. You will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of customers’ homes is maintained by carrying out spot checks, working in accordance with Guild Care standards of quality, safety and compliance. You will recognise when the needs of individual customers are changing and support them to access appropriate services when required. You may be required to assist with home help duties when staff are not available, or the team needs additional support. About our Home Care service Our Home Care service was established in 1994 to promote independent living. The service enables older people and vulnerable adults in and around Worthing to lead better quality lives whilst remaining safe and comfortable in their own homes. Our Domestic Home Care Team provides help for independent people who want to live in the community but need a helping hand with housework, shopping and those little jobs which are difficult if you are not feeling well or are frail and struggling with mobility. Job description It is essential that you can communicate with a range of different people, including customers, relatives, staff and other professionals both in person and in writing, with excellent IT, literacy and numeracy skills. You will need experience of leading a team and demonstrate a keen eye for detail, ensuring excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the home. You must have good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation. It is also essential that you have a good knowledge of the local area and ability to travel throughout Worthing, and as far as Lancing and Shoreham. Previous experience of managing or supervising staff in a domestic setting is desirable. It is also helpful if you have experience of assessing the needs and risks of customers and their home environment.
