About Guild Care

Guild Care has been making a difference to the lives of the people of Worthing and its surrounding areas since it was first established in 1933 by a small team of volunteers.

Today the charity runs three care homes and community that help people of all ages.

The role

We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Officer to work at Guild Care. Working as part of the Finance Department, you will liaise closely with Guild Care services, suppliers and customers to ensure the accuracy of the information held and processed on our finance systems.

Main duties

  • Maintain and update client records on finance systems
  • Record and allocate income on finance systems
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, Health Authorities and other Agencies regarding funding.
  • Respond to any queries from colleagues, suppliers, clients and/or their representatives.
  • Create and record sales invoices and credit notes on finance systems.
  • Establish and maintain effective credit control practices
  • Produce monthly reports on a timely basis.
  • Periodically visit services to reconcile petty cash and client’s personal allowance, topping up cash as required.
  • Assist with counting and receipting cash received in the finance office together with regular banking duties.
  • Process card payments and record information for inputting to finance system.
  • Review bank statements to uplift various income sources to relevant spreadsheets in preparation for inputting to the finance system.
  • Input supplier invoices and credit notes to finance system
  • Payment of authorised supplier invoices as per agreed credit terms
  • Uplift direct debit payments from bank statements and input to finance system
  • Reconcile unpresented cheques to bank statements
  • Complete any other ad-hoc tasks set by the Head of Finance or Finance Manager
