Tarring Priory Bowls Club raised an incredible £1,326 for Guild Care through a bowls and curry evening for local businesses.

The event, run for the second time, saw supporting businesses such as Bowers & Wilkins Loudspeakers, Wannops Solicitors, Carpenter Box Chartered Accountants, Marshalls Carpets plus other organisations including West Worthing Baptist Church, come together for a fun evening of bowls finished off with a delicious curry provided by Shafiques restaurant, all to help raise funds for Guild Care.

After Keith Brinsmead was appointed as the club’s first Chairman, he decided to fundraise for a local charity and chose Guild Care after a close relative became a resident in their Haviland House care home.

The event, sponsored by Alexanders Kitchens, Ian Hart Funeral Services and B&W Loudspeakers, saw an array of raffle prizes donated, which included four-ball golf at Hill Barn and Shirley Park and B&W headphones. Reigning champions, Carpenter Box took home the winning title for the second year running.

Community Fundraising Officer Auds Stapleton said, “Despite the rain that tried to thwart our game, local companies turned out to play to raise money for Guild Care and the amazing work that we do throughout the year for our local community. With a curry provided from Shafiques in Worthing afterwards, this topped the evening off for us.”
