Stride, stroll, shimmy, scoot or sprint to help us raise £15,000 for local children and adults in need on Saturday 15th June!

Our ‘Walk for Worthing’ is a sunset walk (or stride, run or stroll – however you want to move!) along Worthing’s seafront for local children and adults in need. Choose to take a 5km return route down to George V Avenue or a 10km route down to Goring Gap and back.

The Walk will kick off at 8pm from Steyne Gardens after a short, optional warm up. Upon your return, a mobile bar, stalls and music will welcome you back while the sun is setting.

“I always know that when Legna is at Guild Care’s Ashdown Centre that she is in a safe environment. She has made some lovely friendships and gets to do lots of fun activities. It’s been really difficult to find other services locally that we can use that meet Legna’s needs. So, this is a lifeline for us. Legna has insomnia so using Guild Care’s Ashdown service means that I get a much needed break and it’s a huge deal that we can come here. Guild Care is an amazing charity, which Ashdown is part of, so please take part in their Walk for Worthing event to support this service which is such a lifeline for us.” Heidi, Worthing

Entry is £10 for adults, £5 for children (5 - 16), and under 5’s are free. Our special family ticket entitles two adults and two children entry for £25. Included within your entry fee is a free t-shirt, goody bag and choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink!

You can also choose to gain sponsorship and help raise as much as you can for local children and adults in need – if you wish, you can choose to support a particular service.

How your sponsorship could make a difference:

  • £20 could pay for four children from our Ashdown Centre to go swimming.
  • £50 could pay for someone living with dementia to enjoy an afternoon outing, providing a much needed break for their carers.
  • £107 could run one of our services for adults with learning disabilities for one day.

“We really hope the local community will come together and Walk for Worthing to help continue our vital services for children and adults in need. Every penny really will make a difference in reaching our target of £15,000, which will be spent on providing care and support to those living south of the Downs from Fishersgate to Littlehampton.” Michelle Sidney, Head of Fundraising.
