Staff and volunteers at our flagship charity shop in George Street, Hove, have been busy getting the store ready for Spring shoppers. Colourful dresses and tops have been brought to the front to give a fresh sense of style for the new season. The interior has also been refitted to maximise display space across every section.

Nik Ratcliffe, deputy manager at Guild Care’s Hove shop, said, “The new and improved layout here is designed to make it even easier to pick up a bargain. Our high-quality preloved items have been thoughtfully presented for people to quickly find a specific item they’re looking for, as well as making it a pleasure for those who prefer to browse all the donations on display. It’s well worth a visit to discover what we now have in store.”

Clothing displays are colour co-ordinated and a new holiday shop section has been introduced. The bric-a-brac section has been extended with nine new rails to accommodate even more glassware and kitchenware.

“Last but not least, we’ve created a ‘little library’ in a corner of the store,” said Nik. “Our bookshelves are already bursting with great fiction and non-fiction books, ready for new readers to discover. We’ve added a comfortable chair to complete this cosy corner. Thank you to everyone who has donated or bought from our shop since we opened last summer, and to everyone who’s helped with the extensive refit. I hope all our shoppers will be impressed!”

All money raised in the shop will help social care charity, Guild Care, to support older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities.

Guild Care encourages residents of Hove and neighbouring areas to visit the charity shop on George Street which is open 9-5 Monday to Saturday and 10-4 on Sundays. Donations of pre-loved items are always welcomed.
