Celebrating the Royal Wedding

Guild Care’s day centre hosted its very own Royal Wedding Party last Friday and a royal affair it was.

Over 70 service users were treated to a day fit for the Queen as the centre dressed in union jack bunting, threw a fun-filled party that had everyone singing, dancing and most of all smiling.

Having been told to dig down in the back of your wardrobe for your finest outfits, people did not disappoint and came in their best dress, fascinators included and were delighted to have had the chance to dress up and celebrate the big day.

Maureen Goddard, 80 has been coming to the centre for two and a half years and enjoys spending the day with friends Sally and Janet, whom she met at Guild Care’s singing group.

She said, “These special things, they pull out all the stops. They work hard, they do all the time, but especially on special occasions you know it’s going to be special. We’ve loved it. We’ve loved getting dressed up and have had a really lovely time.”
