Local charity Guild Care has announced that its flagship event, Walk for Worthing, raised a total of £12,113.

Walk for Worthing saw 250 supporters of the charity stride, stroll, shimmy, and sprint along Worthing’s promenade on the evening of Saturday 15^th June. In attendance were Worthing’s current and former Mayors, Cllr Hazel Thorpe and Cllr Paul Baker; Town Crier, Bob Smytherman; and Tim Loughton MP.

Guild Care’s CEO, Suzanne Millard, said, “We couldn’t be more grateful for the support Walk for Worthing received from the local community. All of the money raised from this fantastic event will help fund our community services, which support children and adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, older people, and those living with dementia.”

The Walk will return in 2020. Those wanting to register their interest in taking part can visit www.guildcare.org/walk-2020. In the meantime, Guild Care has a calendar of events which can be viewed on its website. Most notably, they are holding a Dog Show & Fun Day on Sunday 8^th September at Broadwater Green.
