Are you able to give a few hours of your time to help raise funds and support a local charity? As a Guild Care volunteer, you can support us when it is convenient for you and do as little or as much as you like. There are a range of opportunities available to help us raise vital funds and engage with the local community. Being a fundraising volunteer can look pretty much however you want it to look. A few ideas of how you could volunteer with our fundraising team are listed below, but if you have another idea we’d love to hear from you! We welcome all ages and very much look forward to hearing from you so come and join the Guild Care family.

Why should I join Guild Care as a fundraising volunteer?

Volunteering offers you the chance to give something back to the community and make a difference to the people around you. It also provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. You will make new friends and learn new skills and we will support, help, and guide you all the way.

Here are a few different ways you could get involved...

Fundraising Volunteer

  • You could be helping us at event registration, giving out t-shirts, selling raffle tickets at a stall or doing a bucket collection at a supermarket; there are so many different events and ways you can support with even just two hours of your time.
  • No previous experience is necessary, we will guide and support you!
  • And there is no set time or date to commit to.
  • We’re looking for volunteers who are happy to help out at events on an ad hoc basis.

Lead Fundraising Volunteer

  • This role is ideal if you can spare some time on a more regular basis or if don’t mind a little responsibility, using your initiative and have a reasonable level of fitness.
  • No previous experience is necessary, we will guide and support you!
  • We are looking for volunteers to lead at community events. This could include setting up a stand and helping to support and direct other volunteers.
  • You can decide which events you’d like to lead at and you might be able to suggest some ideas to us!

Fundraising Coordinator

  • This role is event specific and is about helping to advertise upcoming events by putting up posters and distributing leaflets in your local community or High Street, and collecting them after the event. Perfect for fitting in around your other tasks like walking the dog or getting your step count up!
  • We will brief you about the event beforehand so you will have all the information you need.
  • No previous experience is necessary, we will guide and support you.
  • Or you could support us with helping to distribute and collect our collection tins as well as spot new locations for them to be placed – be our eyes and ears!

Fundraising Friend

  • This role is perfect for those who feel quite sociable and confident and would be happy to host events themselves.
  • This could include anything from coffee mornings and bake sales to lunch dates or plants sales to open gardens and anything in between!
  • You can have some fun with this role and potentially recruit other friends.
  • You can have as much or as little support from us as you would like and can choose to organise your events at your convenience.

This list just gives you a glimpse of the ways you can get involved with volunteer fundraising at Guild Care. If you have another idea of how you would like to get involved we would love to hear from you so please do get in touch.
