Guild Care is the latest recipient of funding through Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme which invites local groups and charities to bid for a match‐funded donation of up to £1,000.

The £1,000 will go towards replacing the charity’s oldest minibus, which is spending more time off the road undergoing expensive repairs than it is helping people. The transport scheme is described as the ‘backbone’ of the organisation, providing a door‐to‐door service.

Without it, local people wouldn’t be able to access various services or trips out – some service uses may not even leave their home at all. Michelle Sidney, Guild Care’s Charity Fundraising Manager, said: “Our community transport is essential to Guild Care. It enables local children and adults to access our services and enjoy trips out.

“We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes for helping our appeal to replace our oldest vehicle which will allow us to continue this vital transport service.”

Persimmon’s hugely successful Community Champions programme has already donated more than £1 million to good causes in England, Wales and Scotland. Every month we give away 60 donations of up to £1,000 each to local groups and charities.
