Haviland House Dementia Day Service To find our more, please contact our friendly team on 01903 866130 or use our online form. When someone is diagnosed with dementia, they may lose touch with their usual activities, like seeing friends or going out. This affects both them and their relatives, who worry about their isolation. People with dementia need stimulation for a fulfilling life. Families in this situation can find support and advice to ease their concerns. It's crucial for the main caregiver to maintain their own tasks and interests without constant worry. Our dementia day centre, Haviland House Day Service, was established in 2015 at Haviland House. The centre provides a safe and stimulating environment for people living with dementia, whilst at the same time providing well needed respite for carers. The centre offers an extensive and innovative programme of events, as well as different sessions for varying levels of support: Time Out for Carers Time Out for Carers offers respite to dementia carers by providing their loved one with activities, meaningful occupation, and opportunities for socialising at the centre. When does this service take place? 9:30am - 3:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. All places are subject to assessments wherein a place on a specific day would be discussed. Time Out For Carers PLUS Time Out For Carers PLUS offers respite to dementia carers by providing their loved one with a ‘move-on’ day service for Time Out For Carers members, or newcomers alike, whose support needs are a little greater. Alongside person-centred activities and opportunities for socialising, personal care and support at mealtimes can also be given. When does this service take place? Every Thursday 9.30-3.30. All places are subject to an assessment. Time Out Together Time Out Together hosts fun, friendly social events for dementia carers and their loved ones together.
