When someone is diagnosed with dementia, they may lose touch with their usual activities, like seeing friends or going out. This affects both them and their relatives, who worry about their isolation. People with dementia need stimulation for a fulfilling life. Families in this situation can find support and advice to ease their concerns. It's crucial for the main caregiver to maintain their own tasks and interests without constant worry. Our dementia day centre, Haviland House Day Service, was established in 2015 at Haviland House. The centre provides a safe and stimulating environment for people living with dementia, whilst at the same time providing well needed respite for carers.
