20th December 2021

We recently held our own Christmas wrapping event to show some love to our service users this Christmas.

After a difficult 18-months for many, our team planned a week-long event, filled with volunteers to help wrap and pack lovely presents to those who find themselves alone and isolated at this time of the year.

Taking place from the 4th to the 11th of December at the Greenhouse superstore in in East Worthing, our volunteers and staff managed to wrap over 720 presents over the course of the week: one for each of our community service users.

Last year, we delivered over 80 special Christmas boxes to their elderly and vulnerable services users and this year we have doubled the number of service users, and increased the number of presents wrapped by 10 times.

Gift boxes and presents from this year have all been hand wrapped, each containing a variety of treats and essential gifts. Boxes include diaries, mince pies, toiletries, hats and gloves and many items for individuals to enjoy this Christmas.

Commencing on the 13th December, our staff and band of volunteer minibus drivers spent the week hand delivering hundreds of gifts to our service users in and around the Worthing area.

Alex Brooks-Johnson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), shared: “This Christmas wrapping event has been a wonderful initiative for all our volunteers and staff to get involved in, and what better time to show some love and compassion than at Christmas time.

“Our loving and caring ethos is carried all throughout Guild Care, and I am so proud of our incredible and kind team of volunteers who have been able to wrap over 700 presents to help make a positive difference to someone's life this Christmas.”
