The club provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and young people aged eight to 18 with learning disabilities and both moderate and more complex support requirements across West Sussex.

Sian Bruford, manager of Treehouse Club, said, “We’re so proud to be growing Treehouse Club at Methold House. This is our first summer based in our new setting and we’re all really excited to welcome more young people into the club, especially now we have so much space to enjoy our weekend sessions throughout the summer. We’re also planning a series of weekday outings to get out and about exploring.”

A broad programme of activities is in place for the summer holidays including the club’s regular weekend sessions. Indoor activities range from cooking, sensory play, messy play, and arts and crafts to games and sports. Alongside this, a selection of community-based experiences is planned. Depending on preferences, young people may take part in visits to Drusillas Park, as well as bowling trips, cinema visits, farm outings, shopping trips, picnics in the park and beach trips along the local coastline.

The service supports young people who receive middle or higher rate Disability Living Allowance through a mix of structured sessions and outings. At Methold House, young people benefit from a well-equipped, air-conditioned space, including a sensory room and a safe and secure outdoor area.

Sessions at Treehouse Club follow a child-centred approach, ensuring each young person is supported by fully trained staff in line with their preferences and abilities.

“We want to create a place where every child feels included and able to enjoy their time with us at Treehouse Club,” added Sian. “The range of activities means our children and young people can explore more of what they enjoy, be themselves, and build friendships along the way.”

Treehouse Club works closely with families to understand each young person’s needs and interests, shaping sessions that balance routine with new experiences.

Enquiries are open for upcoming sessions, including the summer holiday programme. Families can contact Treehouse Club on 01903 528600 or email [email protected] to find out more about availability and how to join.
