Events Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to do a minimum of 2 hours volunteering at a time up to 4 hours.

The role would include: Manning the Marquee, asking for donations, handing out leaflets and merchandise and talking about Guild Care.

If you would like to volunteer, but have minimal knowledge about Guild Care and it's services, we are happy to talk with you and send you information prior to the event.

It's a great day/evening out where you will get the opportunity to meet other volunteers, enjoy the festival and learn about Guild Care.

About the Role

As part of the Volunteer Team, there are roles to suit everyone, and you can choose to give as little or as much time as you want to. We organise and host a variety of Guild Care events throughout the year and are looking for help with these events, as well as help with Community events. Guild Care needs the income raised from these events to support the work we do and raise awareness within the community.

What will I be doing? - Tasks & Duties

  • Events helper - helping us at events with registration, giving out t-shirts, selling raffle tickets at a stall, doing a bucket collection at a supermarket, talking about Guild Care, giving out leaflets, signing up new volunteers, manning registration desks, handing out food and drink, being a cheerer at challenge events.

We will keep you very much informed about events, opportunities, and update you on fundraising and Guild Care in general. This role could suit people of any age and would be great if you are retired, or if you are in the job market and looking to upskill yourself.

We have a variety of different roles available at events. Some volunteering roles may be more physical and others may just involve telling people about the amazing work of Guild Care.

Times and commitment

You can volunteer for as little as two hours, or as much as you wish. We can tell you, in advance, what events are planned, and you can tell us which you would like to support. We can pretty much work round whatever suits you.

Support Offered

You will be supported by the volunteering team and the fundraising team. Depending on your role, if you want to volunteer but have minimal knowledge of Guild Care services we are happy to help here, by speaking to you and sending you information.

We also have several other Event Volunteer roles available.

  • Leading Events Helper – Taking a lead role at an event and not minding a little responsibility, using your initiative and having a reasonable level of fitness.
  • Events Coordinator - Help to advertise upcoming events by putting up posters and distributing leaflets, or help to distribute and collect our collection tins, as well as spot new locations for them to be placed.
  • Events Friend - Happy to host an event yourself. Anything from coffee mornings and bake sales to lunch dates, or from plant sales to open gardens, and anything in between!
  • Guild Care Community Champion. - Represent Guild Care by attending community and organised fundraising events, such as challenge events or cheque presentations, or giving talks in the community on the work of the charity.
