It is Carers Week from the 8th to 14th June. As a charity, we pledge to support carers by providing information and support to those in the Worthing community.

Below you can read how our Outreach and Respite Care services can help unpaid carers. Also, throughout the week, we’ll be sharing advice and help from our carers via our Facebook page.

Outreach

Our Outreach Team support carers and their loved ones in claiming benefits and discounts as well as accessing other help in the community. This includes:

  • Attendance Allowance, which can be put towards Home Care, Domestic Support, and transport costs.
  • Carers allowance, if appropriate.
  • Refer and signpost to other support agencies in the local area.
  • Applying for a Blue Badge, so cars can be parked a lot closer to shops, hospitals, GP surgeries, etc.
  • Where applicable, this service can also assist carers in applying for discounts and disregards for Council Tax and in finding better utility tariffs to help lower outgoing costs.

If you need advice in understanding and accessing these benefits, discounts and help, please call our friendly Outreach Team on 01903 528627 between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, or otherwise use our online form.

Bookable Respite

We know that being a full-time carer can be an isolating experience and asking for help is hard. We all need a break in our hectic and tiring lives, but even more so when there is the added pressure of caring for a loved one.

For this reason, we provide convalescence at our three care homes in Worthing, West Sussex for lengths of stay to suit your needs.

For more information, please call our also very friendly Customer Service Team on 01903 327327 or get in touch via our online form.
