Thank you for supporting Guild Care!
Guild Care is Worthing’s leading social care charity. Established in 1933, we have been supporting the local community for over 90 years. Our vision is for all people in need of care to live fulfilling, safe, and secure lives.
Every year, Guild Care supports over 3,000 people and their families through our diverse range of community services and three care homes. As a charity, our aim is to reduce social isolation and social stigma, ensuring that people feel loved, cared for, connected, and accepted for who they are.
What’s Happening in Our Local Community?
In Worthing, 22.3% of the population are aged 65+, with many affected by loneliness and isolation. Lonely older people are nearly twice as likely to develop dementia, twice as likely to visit a GP, and 30% more likely to have an emergency hospital admission

West Worthing has the UK’s fourth-highest dementia prevalence, with 2,361 people affected. This leads to a high number of unpaid carers, facing stress, health issues, and isolation. This can lead to social isolation for both carers and those they care for.

7.82% of people in Worthing Borough have a disability affecting daily activities. Loneliness is a challenge, with 1 in 3 young people with learning disabilities spending less than an hour outside on a typical Saturday.

How Your Support Can Make a Difference
Could pay for an older person, who may have money worries, to attend a drop-in advice session – helping them get the support they need.
Could pay for cooking materials for a group of children with learning disabilities to learn how to live an independent life.
Could pay for an older person, struggling after the death of a loved one, to attend a “moving on from loss” support group.
